Traditional.
From the architecture to the decor to the ambiance to the general location...straight-up, traditional.
The interior is great for gettin tanked while peepin footie matches.
The outdoor area is great for drinking cask ales when it's warm, chatting it up with your mates and barking at the passers-by.
This Hawaiian Lion says, "This is a proper drinking pub". -

Another cosy and lovely pub also along from deansgate next to some conveniently placed curry houses! Only came in here for a quick drink but great atmosphere, not too pricey, very warm and inviting place and also didn't mind me charging my phone! (For yelp purposes of course)
They looked like they had great beer garden which I've seen people enjoying in the summer so definitely one to go back for next summer! Watch this space! -

Wicked interior (if you're a Man U fan) and a really cosy olde-worlde pub atmosphere. If you love to while an evening away in an old-school Manchester boozer, look no further.
Great beer/smoking garden and some cracking Christmas decorations. However £7 for a Jagerbomb is SCANDALOUS and pints are all at least £4. -

It's fair to say that we wandered in here by accident. Well, more than fair; my friend believed to be walking into The Ox but, before I could stop him, we were in and at the bar!
Service was without a smile and almost seemed a bit bemused as to why we were in there. Perhaps they could see straight through us, knowing it wasn't where we actually wanted to be, or perhaps it really is just for locals. They didn't have any draught cider other than Strongbow and, not wanting to delve in to their bottle collection, I had a pint; forgive me, craft cider producers!
The atmosphere was calm, especially for a Friday night, with a good buzz of chat and a lovely fluffy dog named Olive, whom I have definitely met in Cask previously. There's decor a-plenty to keep your eyes entertained, and a food menu with a Jamaican slant if you're in the mood.
There's no harm in trying somewhere new but I don't think the White Lion will be gracing my City Staples list any time soon. -

Great beer and great snacks.
The rugby final was on so it was very busy but the staff were happy, polite and quick. We found a nice quiet place to sit and really enjoyed the visit
